America’s ‘Most Influential Black Spiritual Leaders’

I am not impressed.

High-profile evangelical Bishop T.D. Jakes was listed for his “electrifying blend of gospel and tell-it-like-it-is sermonizing.”

Also listed is best-selling author Iyanla Vanzant, who has empowered African American women as an inspirational speaker and television personality.

Another controversial leader with wide influence is Dr. Creflo Dollar, who is best known for preaching the “prosperity gospel.”

Umm, wats embarrassing about the above mentioned preachers?

  2. Jenn says:

Jakes and Dollar do not preach the gospel. They are embarrassing b/c they make Christianity look so money hungry. They dupe people out of their $. They make it hard for people to get into heaven b/c of their focus on money. They preach a different gospel. And Iyanla is not a Christian. They all talk that feel good nonsense… That is embarassing to me as a Christian.

  3. Just goes to show you how far down into the pit that discernment has gone in the black community of professing Christians.

okay, gotcha. reason i was asking is coz i haven’t really been following Jakes nor Dollar that much, i did listen to Jakes years back but somehow stopped (no reason though). Thanks for the insight.
